Michael Leighton Beaman presents "Alterities" @ the University of Cincinnatti

Michael Leighton Beaman presents recent work at the University of Cincinnati on Friday March 10th. The Lecture entitles “Alterities” examines our relationships with others through the lens of design instruction, research and practice.

“Alterity” as opposed to “otherness” is constructed through collective identity rather than an oppositional definition of the self. Alterity for design is ultimately an understanding of the collaborative nature of production, effect, and agency.
