Artefacts are those things which are formed through a specific and directional process. This formation may be either intentional or unintentional. The distributed artefact is one that is de-centralized, embedded, immaterial, phased, interrelated, or expansive. Their distributed nature lies in the relation they have to human spatial and perceptual dimensions. Likewise, their incorporation into the edifices of public museums presents a unique challenge for spatial design.
