Assignment 06

This semester we will be designing a wearable apparatus for exploring the embodiment of designed artifacts. This project will require you to incorporate physical and virtual practices into a singular semester long project. Our design exploration is comprised of five assignments which will require you to work both independently within your assigned group and collaboratively with your assigned group.

In this final assignment, create a series of diagrams/drawings that communicate information about your group apparatus that is not easily accessed through photographs.  3 diagram/drawings are required (listed below). But, there is flexiblity in each of these to craft a set of drawings that fit your project best.

Steps

Follow the "steps" below to insure your model is unrolled properly

Individual file naming convention:

PHF2017-A_Lastname_A01-Photo

Group file naming convention:

PHF2017-A_A01-Model

NOTE: All drawings/Diagrams need to be placed inside the template from assignment 01. All your drawings and diagrams should all be formatted the same. What is due for this final assignment is 6 files - 3 for assignment 06 and 3 for assignment 01.  If you are satisfied with assignment 01, you do not need to change these (see Part B below).  Upload all final drawings (Part A & Part B) in the final submission folder. Make sure you use the file naming system (on the left).

Part A |  DIAGRAMS & DRAWINGS

1. Apparatus Isometric : Use Rhino's Isometric View to generate a 3D parallel projection drawing.

- use line weight, line type, and shading/shadow to communicate 3-dimensionality. (see image above)

- use rhino's "Curve Boolean" command to help make outlines and shading.

- name your project & include project or drawing description.

2. Drawing + Photo : Create a 2D parallel projection drawing (front of side view) and overlay this drawing over your photo series from Assignment 01. You may re-work, correct, or remake Assignment 01 to help with this drawing. (See Part B below).

- use line weight, line type, and shading/shadow to communicate 3-dimensionality. (see image above)

- use rhino's "Curve Boolean" command to help make outlines and shading.

- name your project & include project or drawing description.

3. Experiential Drawing/Diagram : Create a drawing/diagram that communicates something about how the apparatus your group has made.  This can be a drawing from a previous assignment. If you use a previous diagram, make sure it is re-formatted to the template from assignment 01.

- name your project & include project or drawing description.

Part B |  REASSESSING ASSIGNMENT 01 (Optional)

1. Make sure your assignment 01 submissions are clear.  This may mean:

- cutting out your photos from a background

- making sure that all dimensions are correct and align with the photograph.

- name your project & include drawing description.
